RT Students Mark World Spirometry Day with Pulmonary Screening Event

RT students from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio marked World Spirometry Day on June 27 by hosting a pulmonary screening event at a local senior center. AARC member Helen Sorenson, MA, RRT, CPFT, FAARC, helped to organize the event, which drew 18 students to the Bob Ross Senior Center from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Together they screened 73 seniors for obstructive lung disease, and got the chance to visit with these seniors about other aspects of their lung health as well.
