  • Scott Wiley is noted for playing a major role in helping his hospital go smoke-free in two recent articles: this one in the Marco Eagle and this one in the Naples News, both out of Florida. The target date is Nov. 19, this year’s Great American Smokeout.

  • Preston Doerflinger is once again featured for running for city auditor in this article in the Tulsa, OK, World. The primary election is set for Sept. 8.

  • Wayne Taylor get a special thank-you from a patient in this article in the Tifton, GA, Gazette.

  • Mike McDaniel is featured for going back to school to be an RT in this article in the Greensboro, NC, Record. His program director, Tom Harding, is noted for helping him along the way.

  • Geri Bernacki, who is currently serving as president of the Connecticut Society for Respiratory Care, shares great information about the profession in this article in the Philadelphia, PA, Inquirer. "I like the variety the profession offers," she was quoted as saying.

  • Chris Babcock is noted as the leader of a hospital softball team in this article in the Port Huron, MI, Herald. Chris’s team was getting ready to play a team from another hospital in town that just happens to be led by her brother and a fellow RT, Jeff Rumery.

  • Michael Suchy is recognized as a member of a hospital hazmat team that won a local hazmat competition in this article on SC Now.com out of South Carolina. 

  • Gregory Paulauskis is recognized for his promotion to director of the Health Sciences and Business Division at Montana State University-Great Falls College of Technology in this article in the Great Falls, MT, Tribune.

  • Pam Minkley is cited for her role in performing sleep tests on contestants on “The Biggest Loser” TV show in this article in the Pittsburgh, PA, Post-Gazette. "We built a 10-bed sleep center in about 24 hours," she was quoted as saying.

  • AARC President Tim Myers urges RTs to participate in the Association’s National Ventilator Survey in this article in RT for Decision Makers in Respiratory Care. (If your department has yet to complete the survey, please do so by the Sept. 10 deadline.)

  • Jack Covington is noted for his role in a new asthma clinic in this article on EmaxHealth.com. Jack is responsible for inhaler education and helping patients understand how to follow their asthma action plans.
