Dallas, TX (December 19, 2012) —The American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF) honored five respiratory therapists with their prestigious Education Recognition Awards at the largest national meeting of respiratory therapists held each year.
The following individuals were recipients:
Bryan A. Wattier, BA, RRT, from Rochester, MN, received the William F. Miller, MD Postgraduate Education Recognition Award. This award assists qualified respiratory therapists in the pursuit of postgraduate education leading to an advanced degree and was established in 1988 by an initial contribution William F. Miller, MD.
Claudia Ramos, who resides in Las Cruces, NM, was awarded the Morton B. Duggan, Jr., Memorial Education Recognition Award. This award was established memory of Morton B. Duggan, Jr. While applicants/nominees are accepted from all states, preference is given to candidates from Georgia and South Carolina.
Janet J. Vadakkan, from Frisco, TX, was awarded the Jimmy A. Young Memorial Education Recognition Award. This award is given in memory of Jimmy A. Young, past president of the AARC, who personally contributed greatly to respiratory care education.
Adriana Cheteles, lives in McKinney, TX, accepted the NBRC/AMP William W. Burgin Jr., MD Education Award. The American Respiratory Care Foundation (ARCF) and the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC), together with its wholly owned subsidiary, Applied Measurement Professionals, Inc., award up to $2,500 annually to a second-year student enrolled in an accredited respiratory therapy program leading to an Associate degree.
Matthew Trojanowski, BA, RRT, hails from Abingdon, MD, received the NBRC/AMP Gareth B. Gish, MS, RRT Memorial Postgraduate Education Award. The American Respiratory Care Foundation and the National Board for Respiratory Care, together with its wholly owned subsidiary, Applied Measurement Professionals, Inc., award up to $1500 in memory of Gareth B. Gish, MS, RRT to a respiratory therapist pursuing postgraduate education leading to an advanced degree.### RRT stands for Registered Respiratory Therapist
