Life Member Award

The Life Member Award recognizes an individual who has been a long-standing member of the AARC, and has provided extraordinary contributions to the AARC by having served as a national officer, board member, committee chair or member or in the House of Delegates. The House of Delegates provides the name of one individual who exemplifies these exceptional characteristics to the AARC President's Council. The AARC President's Council makes the final decision on the awarding of the Life Membership.

Eligibility Criteria
  • Must be an active member of the AARC for a minimum of 15 years.
  • Served the AARC in an official capacity, such as a national officer, Board member, committee chair or member, House of Delegates, etc. for a minimum of 7 years.
  • May not currently be on the AARC BOD, an AARC Officer, AARC House of Delegates Officer or an AARC Committee Chair/Co-Chair
  • Provided extraordinary contribution to the AARC and its affiliates.
  • Active in Affiliate operations and served in an official capacity at the affiliate level.

Nomination Process
  • The following documentation will need to be submitted for all nominations:
    • A completed the Life Member Application.
    • A letter of nomination submitted and signed by both the president and a delegate of the state affiliate.
    • A current curriculum vitae
  • All nomination documentation must be completed by the published calendar deadline.
  • Only one nomination per state will be accepted.
  • Nominations will be reviewed by the HOD Chartered Affiliate/Special Recognition Committee, and recommendations made to and voted on by the House of Delegates at the summer meeting for the selected nominee to be submitted to the AARC Presidents Council.
  • The House of Delegates sends the name of the nominee and all applications to the Presidents Council, who will choose the ultimate recipient.
  • The Life Member Award will be presented at the AARC Congress.
