Summit Award

Each year, the House of Delegates recognizes state affiliates for their efforts and achievements in promoting the field of respiratory care and the promoting professionalism of respiratory care and the respiratory therapist. The summit award application documents a state affiliate's activities in seven different areas of contribution:

• Education activities
• Membership and recruiting
• Legislation/advocacy
• Promoting public awareness
• Benefits to members
• Collaboration with other health care organizations
• Student activities

Eligibility Criteria

• Affiliate must be in good standing with the AARC
• All activities documented in the application took place between 4/1/2018 and 3/31/2019

Nomination Process

• The following documentation will need to be submitted for all nominations:
  • A completed the Summit Award Application.
  • Any supporting documentation requested in the application.
• The application and all documentation must be completed and submitted by the published calendar deadline.
• Applications will be reviewed by the HOD Chartered Affiliate/Special Recognition Committee, and recommendations made to and voted on by the House of Delegates at the summer meeting.
• Affiliate delegates will notify their state society after the summer meeting, and the award will be presented at the AARC Congress.
