	Expert Panel Report 3 (EPR3): Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma The EPR 3 Guidelines on Asthma was developed by an expert panel commissioned by the National Asthma Education and Prevention Program (NAEPP) Coordinating Committee (CC), coordinated by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health. Using the 1997 EPR 2 guidelines and the 2004 update of EPR 2 as the framework, the expert panel organized the literature review and final guidelines report around four essential components of asthma care, namely: assessment and monitoring, patient education, control of factors contributing to asthma severity, and pharmacologic treatment. Subtopics were developed for each of these four broad categories.
	Expert Panel Report 3 (EPR-3): Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma - Summary Report 2007 The EPR--3 Summary Report 2007, provides key information from the full report on the diagnosis and management of asthma. Summary information is provided on measures of assessment and monitoring, education for a partnership in asthma care, control of environmental factors and comorbid conditions that affect asthma, and medications. Key tables and figures from the full report are included for easy reference.
	Expert Panel Report: Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma—Update on Selected Topics 2002 (EPR—Update 2002) provides timely information on several selected priority asthma topics. It updates recommendations of the Expert Panel Report 2: Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma (EPR-2).
	Expert Panel Report 2: Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma (EPR-2) is the culmination of more than 3 years of preparatory analysis, meetings, and writing and review cycles involving many individuals, not the least of whom were the members of the second Expert Panel.
	This revision of the Global Strategy for Asthma Management and Prevention provides a unified text as a source document. Each chapter contains separatesections containing details and management advice for specific age categories where considered relevant.
	The NAEPP Working Group Report on Managing Asthma During Pregnancy: Recommendations for Pharmacologic Treatment—Update 2004 represents the ongoing effort of the NAEPP to keep recommendations for clinical practice current and based on systematic reviews of the evidence.
	Making a Difference in the Management of Asthma: A Guide for Respiratory Therapists this guide can serve as an easy and practical reference for the RT; it presents information in a way that will make it easier to share with patients. 	Implementing an Asthma Home Visit Program: 10 Steps To Help Health Plans Get Started.The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has launched a nationwide asthma public education and prevention program. The goal of this program is to make the public and the medical community more aware of environmental asthma triggers and simple ways to reduce exposure to these triggers, especially at home.
	A Guide to Aerosol Delivery Devices. This booklet provides detailed and comprehensive information that, when combined with your dedication and commitment to be the professional experts in this important area, will empower you to provide guidance to your physician, nurse, and pharmacist colleagues, but, most importantly, to your patients.
	Key Clinical Activities For Quality Asthma Care.To improve the implementation of these guidelines, a working group of the Professional Education Subcommittee of the NAEPP extracted key clinical activities that should be considered as essential for quality asthma care in accordance with the EPR-2 guidelines and the EPR–Update 2002. The purpose was to develop a report that would help purchasers and planners of health care define the activities that are important to quality asthma care (particularly in reducing symptoms and preventing exacerbations), and subsequently the overall reduce national burden of illness and death from asthma. This report is intended to help employer health benefits managers and other health care planners make decisions regarding delivery of health care for persons with asthma.
	Environmental Management of Pediatric Asthma. These guidelines are the product of a new Pediatric Asthma Initiative aimed at integrating environmental management of asthma into pediatric health care. This document outlines competencies in environmental health relevant to pediatric asthma that should be mastered by primary health care providers, and outlines the environmental interventions that should be communicated to patients.
	Asthma Management in Minority Children: Practical Insights for Clinicians, Researchers and Public Health Planners. A continuing challenge in asthma control efforts is reaching minority populations. These populations have some of the highest rates of prevalence, emergency department use, and hospitalization for asthma. The NAEPP’s initiatives in this area have included conducting professional education sessions, distributing patient and public education materials written in English and Spanish, and conducting mass media campaigns for African-American and Hispanic populations.
	Managing Asthma: A Guide for Schools. This guide is intended to assist schools that are planning and/or maintaining an asthma management program. This guide provides follow-up steps for schools that currently identify students with asthma through health forms on emergency cards, or plan to do so. It is designed to offer practical information to school staff members of every position.
	Strategies for Addressing Asthma Within a Coordinated School Health Program. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified six strategies for schools and districts to consider when addressing asthma within a coordinated school health program. These strategies can be effective whether your program is for the entire school district or just one school.
	Asthma Research Strategy Identifies and prioritizes the research needed to provide information to close the gaps in our knowledge and to control environmental factors that contribute to the disease. It serves to guide the planning of EPA research efforts, led by the Office of Research and Development (ORD), to address the significant issues of exposure and effects. It also addresses risk assessment and risk management of environmental pollutants relevant to asthma through the fiscal year of 2009.
	Risks to Asthma Posed by Indoor Health Care Environments. This document investigates the evidence of chemical and biologic agents commonly encountered in health care facilities that pose a risk of asthma to people who spend time in them, including patients, staff, and visitors.
	Asthma Home Environment Checklist. Home visits provide an opportunity to educate and equip asthma patients with the tools to effectively manage their disease in concert with a physician’s care. This checklist—designed for home care visitors—provides a list of questions and action steps to assist in the identification and mitigation of environmental asthma triggers commonly found in and around the home.
