Join us for a one-day live prep course with online supplementary course materials worth a total of 7.0 live CRCE and 6.5 non-traditional CRCE for RRTs seeking the RRT-ACCS credential or just wanting to enhance their critical care skills.

In 2012, the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) released the Adult Critical Care Specialty Examination for Registered Respiratory Therapists who have at least one year of experience working in the adult critical care environment. This credential (RRT-ACCS) is unique to the daily tasks of an adult critical care specialist. It goes above and beyond general respiratory care activities and demonstrates an enhanced skill level in a fast-growing specialty within the field.

Few preparatory courses are currently available for RRTs seeking this credential. The AARC is excited to host a one day, live prep course in Winfield, IL (March 20, 2015) that also includes an online supplement for enhancing knowledge in this area. This special course provides the RT with 7.0 live CRCE and 6.5 non-traditional CRCE.

Unlike other courses that simply provide you with the skills to pass the credentialing exam, the AARC’s Adult Critical Care Specialist course provides a comprehensive understanding of the intensive care environment and the critically ill patient. Through this program, participants will enhance their knowledge of the critical care environment and key factors, practices, and procedures that impact patient outcomes. Aligned with the test matrix of the NBRC, this program will better prepare participants to sit for and successfully pass the Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) examination, but perhaps most importantly, it prepares the respiratory therapist to become a better clinician. In a tight economy where competition for open positions is fierce, this credential and participation in this course is a great way to differentiate yourself from your peers.

Not interested in sitting for the exam? Just want to brush up on your critical care skills? That’s OK, too. This course is a great opportunity to build upon an existing skill set or to serve as an orientation to the critical care environment. Regardless of your reason for attending, the AARC Adult Critical Care Specialist course has you covered.
