QRCR Open Enrollment Begins

It’s that time of year again: hospitals, home care providers, and long-term care facilities have the opportunity to enroll/reenroll in the AARC’s Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) program.

This stamp of approval from the AARC can be used to market your facility to local news sources, referral sources, and even patients and families.

One change to note for hospitals seeking to enroll/reenroll this year: based on the findings of a White Paper published by the AARC, the hospital criteria now includes a section requiring qualifying hospitals to prohibit the routine delivery of medicated aerosol treatments utilizing small volume nebulizers, metered dose inhalers, or intermittent positive pressure treatments to multiple patients simultaneously. Circumstances under which this practice is permitted must be defined by policy.

Visit the QRCR webpage to download a copy of the enrollment/reenrollment form that applies to your organization, along with a letter you can give to your administrator explaining the program and its benefits. The open enrollment/reenrollment period runs now through March 31.
