You can help your PACT representatives make a difference in Washington DC by participating in Virtual Lobby Week on Feb. 25–March 8.

By sending your emails, letters, phone calls, and faxes to your members of Congress that week, you will pave the way for your PACT reps in their face-to-face visits on Capitol Hill.

The annual AARC Capitol Hill Lobby Day is set for March 8. For over 10 years, the respiratory therapists who are your state’s Political Advocacy Contact Team (PACT) representatives come to Washington D.C. to directly lobby members of Congress for support of the respiratory therapy legislative agenda. When those Congressional representatives have heard from their constituents back home (that’s you!), the message that the PACT members bring is more likely to be heard.

We are looking for respiratory therapists, pulmonary patients, and all supporters of the profession to communicate with their Senators and Representative. When PACT arrives on Capitol Hill their in-person meetings will be significantly strengthened.

The message you will be sending is simply: Support the Medicare Respiratory Therapy Initiative Legislation.

The AARC Government Affairs Office held a successful Virtual Lobby Day last August. Seeing the outpouring of support at that time led them to form plans for this week-long blitz leading up to the Capitol Hill visits.

AARC has a website called AARC Capitol Connection, which allows you to quickly find and send emails to your members of Congress. Simply go to the Virtual Lobby Week site and follow the instructions.
