AARC Considers Formation of Oncology Roundtable

Cancer patients often require respiratory care to help them cope with the breathing difficulties that can accompany the disease and its treatment. Working with these patients carries a special set of challenges and rewards, and now the AARC is seeking input from members to gauge their interest in joining an Oncology Roundtable where they could share clinical and caregiving concerns.

The chief benefit of Roundtable membership would be access to a dedicated discussion list on the Association’s new social networking site, AARConnect. But before the group can be formed, the AARC must first know that enough interests exists to support it. If you would be interested in joining this Roundtable, please take a few moments to fill out our brief survey.

The Association currently supports eleven Roundtables, which are special groups formed among members with common interests. While smaller than a Specialty Section, a Roundtable is a group of at least 50 AARC members who want to share information and ideas regarding a specialized area. Only AARC members may join a Roundtable, and any member of the Association can propose formation of a Roundtable.

All Roundtables are available to AARC members at no extra cost.

If an Oncology Roundtable is formed, the AARC will appoint a Roundtable chair to direct the discussion and report regularly to the AARC Board of Directors. The Roundtable would also provide an avenue for educational programming.
