AARC is helping the Healthcare Technology Foundation gather information on clinical alarm issues.

A letter has been issued to all members asking for their participation in the project.

Dear AARC Member:

The AARC has been contacted by the Healthcare Technology Foundation (HTF), which has asked that our members take part in a survey that deals with clinical alarm issues.

In 2006, the HTF performed a national survey of clinical alarm issues, receiving over 1300 responses from health care personnel. HTF is conducting that survey again to determine changes in the perception of clinical alarm issues, improvements made at facilities, and priorities for future action.

Because this is a safety issue and one that certainly is in the purview of the respiratory therapist, we are making you aware of this opportunity to provide our feedback via this survey.  The survey is sponsored in part by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation with many collaborating organizations.

Your contribution is critical to the improvement of clinical alarms-related issues. Please provide your input.

The survey ends on September 7, 2011.

Sincerely,

Karen Stewart
