Members of the Long Term Care, Management, Neonatal-Pediatrics, Sleep, and Surface & Air Transport Sections can read the Fall issues of their Bulletins online now.

Long Term Care: Bulletin Editor Larry Goldman shares some information about the issue in his “Notes” column, and from there you can read interesting articles on older adults and smoking, and pain assessment in long term care. We round out the issue with an inspiring poem written by a family member of a long term care patient.

Management: Managers will find plenty of useful information here, with articles on drivers of change, motivating low performing staff, the art and science of respiratory care, and effective retention strategies for clinical RTs.

Neonatal-Pediatrics: Seasonal asthma exacerbations are featured here, along with a look at near infrared spectroscopy. Section Chair Cyndi White also congratulates her section’s Specialty Practitioner of the Year in her “Notes” column.

Sleep: This issue features informative articles on commercial drivers and sleep disordered breathing, caffeine and sleep, and how community talks can help spread the word about the need for sleep testing and treatment.

Surface & Air Transport: Section Chair Steve Sittig kicks off the issue with his “Notes” column, and from there you can read more about a recent letter sent from the AARC to the Department of Defense on a transport-related issue, part two of our two-part series on testifying as an expert witness, and a transport exam review on a three-week-old with increased vomiting.
