  • Tiffany Semar receives kudos for earning her AE-C credential in this article in the St. Louis, MO, Suburban Journals. "Additional certification serves to validate our competency to our patients, and they may be more inclined to listen to care recommendations and avoid a visit to the ER," she was quoted as saying.

  • Preston Doerflinger’s new job as Oklahoma’s secretary of finance and director of the Office of State Finance is the focus of this article in the Tulsa World. Preston, who has been serving as Tulsa’s city auditor since his election in 2009, was appointed to the cabinet level position by Governor Mary Fallin.

  • Barbara DeLuca is recognized for receiving the Gregory R. Hoye Award in this press release issued by Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville, NY. The award is given to honor people who have demonstrated compassionate care to patients and families dealing with life-limiting illnesses.

  • Jerry Laue and Ted Jackson are noted for speaking out in favor of a no smoking ordinance at a recent city council meeting in this article in the Brazil, IN, Times. "This is a passionate and heated topic, but it is a common good issue for the community," Jerry was quoted as saying.

  • Pat Munzer is featured for receiving the FAARC at the AARC International Respiratory Congress in this article in the Topeka, KS, Capital-Journal.

Abraham was hired in part to come up with new ways for the RT department to help the hospital meet its long term goals. (Wondering how to make your department more valuable to your organization?   • Greg Spratt offers his take on the top issues facing home care providers in this article in HME News, then goes on to explain the AARC’s new “hospital to home” initiative in this one. Greg chairs the AARC’s Home Care Section and received the invitation to be interviewed via the AARC. 

  • Curtis Aumiller is highlighted for his many years of volunteer work with the American Lung Association in this article in the Harrisburg, PA, Patriot-News. “Volunteering is more than just giving money, it’s about giving time, and this is one way that I can give back,” he was quoted as saying.

  • Thomas Fallang is recognized for his recent appointment to the Respiratory Care Practitioners Board in Montana in this article on the KXLH-TV website out of Butte. Thomas was appointed to the position by Governor Brian Schweitzer.

  • Timothy Myers is noted as the AARC’s immediate past president in this article in the Cleveland, OH, Plain Dealer.

  • Gene Gantt is interviewed about a new pediatric ventilator unit during this telethon on the FOX 25 TV station out of Albany, NY—

  • Melissa Smith is noted for her election to Chapter Eight president of the Louisiana Society for Respiratory Care in this article in the St. Tammany News. “Serving as the LSRC Chapter President gives me the opportunity to make sure respiratory therapists in the New Orleans area are at the top of their profession, and that our patients are getting the best respiratory care possible,” she was quoted as saying.

  • Marsha Edmonds comments about one of her staff members in this article in the Telegraph out of Illinois, noting patients “really appreciate the way Vince takes the time to teach them about medicines and the machines and lets them know what's going on."

  • L. Jack Clark is noted for sponsoring a Mentor of the Year award at Southern Crescent Technical College in this news release. Jack has sponsored the award since 1979.

  • Bill Cunningham talks about a preceptor shift initiated in his department to help respiratory care students adjust to real life clinical settings in this article in the Gainesville, FL, Sun. “We can kind of gear their education to make them more efficient as far as employment," he was quoted as saying.

  • Clifton Dennis is noted for his appointment to the National Asthma Educator Certification Board in this press release issued by MCGHealth out of Georgia. Clifton is a lead pediatric therapist at the facility.
