The Adult Acute Care, Continuing Care/Rehabilitation, Diagnostics, Education, and Home Care Sections have just published the Spring issues of their Bulletins.

Here are your direct links to these informative publications:

Adult Acute Care: Section Chair Keith Lamb updates us on recent section activities in his “Notes” column, and we have a great article from RTs who are seeking volunteers to help them set up an RT training program in Haiti.

Continuing Care/Rehabilitation: The section’s involvement in the AARC Uniform Reporting Manual and recent efforts to address the reimbursement issues many programs are facing take center stage in Debbie Koehl’s “Notes” column, and she also details her experience writing for a COPD Foundation publication last fall. AARC Director of Regulatory Affairs Anne Marie Hummel follows with a preview of her upcoming AARC Times article on the new Pulmonary Rehabilitation Toolkit to help PR programs bill for their services under the new Medicare benefit.

Diagnostics: Bulletin Editor Lisa Becker kicks things off with a “Notes” column that explains how a posting on the section discussion list on AARConnect led to another article in this issue on a controversial aspect of MDI administration. We also have an overview of what the European Respiratory Society (ERS) is, written by the head of ERS Assembly 9, the ERS group for allied respiratory professionals.

Education: Bulletin Editor Robert Fluck offers retirement planning advice in his “Notes” column, and we feature an article about upcoming plans for a new educational program in Haiti that you won’t want to miss. Jim Allen rounds out the issue with another cartoon that is sure to put a smile on your face.

Home Care: This issue includes two great articles – the first provides an overview of health coaching and is the first in a series of articles on this topic. The second looks at how home care therapists can create value in the home through better use of chronic disease management and other tools at their disposal. Section Chair Greg Spratt also writes a “Notes” column urging members to recruit new members to the section so the section can maintain its seat on the AARC Board of Directors.

The remaining five Specialty Section Bulletins—Long Term Care, Management, Neonatal-Pediatrics, Sleep, and Surface & Air Transport—will publish their Spring editions next month.
