Our annual PACT Lobby Day on Capitol Hill is coming up March 12, and PACT members from all across the country are working overtime right now to schedule meetings with their members of Congress.

Ronda Bradley, MS, RRT, one of the PACT reps from Missouri, decided to connect with her members of Congress via their Facebook pages, and when she was having trouble firming up a meeting with Congressman Emanuel Cleaver, she found the social networking site was a great place to turn for help.

“On Friday of last week, I saw an update from Cleaver’s office on FB that he was planning to hold two town hall meetings in the district the next day,” she says. “I forwarded the request to our two team members in this area and Fernando McGregor was able to attend one of the sessions.”

McGregor, MS, RRT, introduced himself to the Congressman during the event and told him about the difficulty the Missouri PACT reps were having setting up a meeting with his office on March 12. “Mr. Cleaver told Fernando that he would ensure that someone contacted him to confirm our appointment later this week,” says Bradley.

Bradley and her fellow PACT members are looking forward to sharing important information about lung health with their members of Congress on the 12th, but everyone can get into the act starting on Sunday, March 3, as we launch our annual Virtual Lobby Week leading up to the Capitol Hill event. Stay tuned to the AARC website for more information on how you can call or email your members of Congress in support of your PACT representatives in Washington, DC.
