AARC Launches Exam Prep Course
May 21, 2013
The AARC is pleased to announce an NBRC examination preparation course. AARC Exam Prep is available online and includes instructional modules from well-known respiratory therapy experts who review NBRC test topics in video lectures.
AARC Exam Prep will help prepare individuals to take either the CRT or RRT exams. It is a unique kind of preparatory course because it includes 4 actual NBRC practice exams as part of the course review materials. In addition, those NBRC practice tests are scored and your areas of weakness are identified. A study “prescription” is then presented to you so you have a roadmap for what NBRC examination matrix items you should most study.
“We are very excited to release this program,” said Shawna Strickland, PhD, RRT-NPS, FAARC, associate executive director of education for the AARC. She explained that these are some of the features of the program:
Free access to NBRC CRT and RRT practice exams. You will be provided with the opportunity to take four actual NBRC exams as you study and prepare yourself, giving you the opportunity to experience an actual CRT or RRT test.
A personalized study prescription. Your NBRC exam results are communicated to your course site and you will be provided with a prescription for study built around your performance on the practice exam.
28 hours of instruction. Your prescription will include access to hours of video with top educators, respiratory therapists, and physicians delivering the instruction. In many cases, these are the people who have written your textbooks and the literature you’ve studied in class.
Test-taking tips. In addition to the instruction on clinical topics, you will also be provided with videos that will help you improve your test-taking abilities.
Opportunities to earn continuing education. You can even use these videos and accompanying online tests to earn continuing education credit.
365-day access to all course materials. You’ll have a full year of access to the videos and online tests, allowing you time to feel comfortable with the material or to return to the modules you’d like to study more.
The course is $295 for members and $345 for non-members.
