The Adult Acute Care, Continuing Care/Rehabilitation, Diagnostics, Education, and Home Care Sections have just published the Fall issues of their Bulletins. Here are your direct links to these informative publications:

Adult Acute Care: After a Notes column from Section Chair Keith Lamb and Editors Joe Hylton and Brady Scott, we have two great articles. The first covers sedation in the ICU while the second is part 1 of a two part series on common endocrine disorders.

Continuing Care/Rehabilitation: Section Chair Gerilynn Connors authors a brief “Notes” column and also provides an informative report on the AACVPR’s new Outpatient Pulmonary Rehabilitation Registry. From there we have a story on risk assessment tools you can use in your efforts to reduce COPD readmissions, and another on maintenance programs and how to best implement them for your patients.

Diagnostics: Editor Katrina Hynes introduces the issue in her “Notes” column, and two informative articles follow. The first addresses the HAST test and the second continues our series on maintenance tips with a look at the nSpire plethysmography system.

Education: Editor Robert Fluck writes about the need to prepare our programs and our students for emergency situations in his “Notes” column, and we also have an interesting interview with an educator who has gone above and beyond to spread the word about the career opportunities available in respiratory care.

Home Care: Following a brief overview of home care-related presentations coming up at AARC Congress 2013, Section Chair Greg Spratt offers two informative articles on readmissions and how home care providers can play a bigger role in minimizing them.

The remaining five Specialty Section Bulletins — Long Term Care, Management, Neonatal-Pediatrics, Sleep, and Surface & Air Transport — will publish their Fall editions next month.
