Back in 2008, we ran an AARC Times article on AARC member Justin Misuraca, RRT-NPS, who had recently written a children’s book in part to benefit worthwhile causes at Children’s Hospital in Denver where he was (and still is) a transport therapist.

“Justin, his wife Liz, and then baby daughter Sofia in 2008 with “Lizzy’s Big Trip,” the children’s book Justin authored in part to support worthwhile causes.”

A week or so ago, we ran across Justin again when we picked up a news story about his participation in the New York City Marathon to raise funds for missing kids for an upcoming Good Press column.

So imagine our surprise when Justin’s name was picked at random to receive the latest $50 Visa gift card in our Put a Face On It contest! We pulled Justin’s name from among everyone in the last couple of weeks who had added a photo and/or updated their profile on AARConnect.

It all goes to show it’s a small RT world out there—and today AARConnect is the place where we can all meet and share our experiences.

As a regular user of the site, Justin is definitely on board with that concept. “I love to be able to ask a question about a somewhat unique situation and receive a rapid response,” he says. “Transport tends to have a lot of weird situations occur. I like to know what other people are doing.”

That kind of quick access to his fellow therapists has paid off for his organization too. “I asked about humidification on transport and received some information that was very helpful,” says Justin. “I shared it with our team and we decided on using a much cheaper option than we originally planned.”

Our Put a Face On It contest continues through Nov. 30 so read the rules then upload a photo or add some personal touches to your page.

You might just be the next name drawn for a $50 Visa gift card!
