Profession Places in Top Quarter in Job Ranking

The career website CareerCast.com recently ranked 200 jobs from best to worst, with the findings based on data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics and other government sources. How did “respiratory therapist” fare?

We’re happy to report we came out on the winning end! At No. 34 on the list we not only placed in the top quarter, but ranked ahead of several other health-related professions, such as “physician assistant” (No. 50), “registered nurse” (No. 55), and “medical technologist” (No. 67).  We even outpaced “physician,” which came in at No. 45!

The website considered five main criteria when ranking professions: physical demands, work environment, income, stress, and hiring outlook.
