CoARC Seeking Comments on Final Draft

The Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) has released the fourth (final) draft of its proposed 2015 Accreditation Standards for Entry into Respiratory Care Professional Practice and is seeking comments now through May 15 from respiratory therapists and others in the respiratory care community of interest.

The document contains the Evidence of Compliance and Interpretive Guidelines for each Standard, along with modifications from the previous drafts resulting from CoARC’s detailed review of all submitted comments and online surveys and the open hearing held at the 2013 AARC Summer Forum in Orlando, FL.

According to CoARC, comments may be directed at the standards in their entirety or at any individual standard or key element. The accrediting agency requests that commenters include the specific language they would like to see incorporated, deleted, or amended in the document, and asks that commenters refer to a specific Standard, Evidence of Compliance, or Interpretive Guideline by numeric reference (e.g., 2.01) rather than by page number.
