The Adult Acute Care, Continuing Care/Rehabilitation, Diagnostics, Education, and Home Care Sections have just published the Fall issues of their Bulletins. Here are your direct links to these informative publications:

Adult Acute Care: Section leaders kick this issue off with their Notes columns and from there we have a great article on the proper way to determine tidal volume and an overview of recent efforts to promote the profession of respiratory care in China.

Continuing Care/Rehabilitation: Bulletin Editor Arianna Villa shares some of the PR-related programming at AARC Congress 2014 and also provides an interesting summary of the new Clinical Competency Guidelines for Pulmonary Rehabilitation Professionals. Rounding out the issue is an informative piece on the drug approval process at the FDA.

Diagnostics: Following a brief Notes column from Editor Jeff Haynes, this issue features articles on cardiopulmonary exercise testing, pediatric metabolic testing, the end of Aridol sales in the U.S., and a Quarterly Case Report illustrating the value of reviewing technologist performance in PFT lab quality assurance.

Education: Section Chair Joe Sorbello offers two informative articles on getting students ready to succeed in the new school year and from there we have a thought-provoking piece on incorporating home care topics into the curriculum.

Home Care: A review of home care lectures slated for AARC Congress 2014 highlights Section Chair Kim Wiles’ Notes column and she also co-authors an interesting look into the need for RT students to learn more about home care during their educational programs. We close out the issue with another Out-of-the-Box Respiratory Home Care column on a couple of books that can help promote creative thinking among therapists.

The remaining five Specialty Section Bulletins—Long Term Care, Management, Neonatal-Pediatrics, Sleep, and Surface & Air Transport— will publish their Fall editions next month.
