Influenza Vaccination in the Spotlight
This is National Influenza Vaccination Week. With news about H1N1 fading from the public eye, it’s more important than ever to encourage your patients to get these important vaccinations.


Extended: Deadline to Contribute Ideas Now Jan. 31
You can still submit your ideas for Congress programming. The deadline has been extended till Jan. 31 -- but no more after that. The Program Committee then meets and plans the line-up.


AARC Rep On Hand at Opening of Rehab Center
AARC rep Miriam O’Day represented the Association at this week’s grand opening of the Grace Anne Dorney Pulmonary & Cardiac Rehabilitation Center in Maryland. Grace Anne is the wife of newsman Ted Koppel and a COPD patient herself. “I got my life back as a result of pulmonary rehabilitation,” she said at the event.


FAA Adds New POCs to the List
Oxygen patients now have four additional portable oxygen concentrators to choose from when traveling by air. The Federal Aviation Administration approved the new devices on Jan. 6.
