Virtual Lobby Week: Your Chance to Support Next Week’s Day on the Hill
Our Virtual Lobby Week has gotten off to a great start, but we’re asking you to keep those emails flowing into your members of Congress. Your respiratory therapist colleagues in the AARC PACT will be on Capitol Hill next Tuesday to lobby Congress on the Medicare Respiratory Therapy Initiative, and the more emails Congress receives before these RTs “Hit the Hill,” the stronger their message will be. So gather your co-workers, family, friends, patients, and whomever, and help bring the RT message to Congress. Then follow the “action” next Tuesday on the Virtual Lobby Week page by reading the tweets from RTs who will be making those Hill visits.

Sleep, Pulmonary Rehab Take Center Stage in March
Both sleep and pulmonary rehabilitation will be in the news this month, as the nation marks National Sleep Awareness Week™ March 5–11 and Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week March 11–17. The AARC has resources you can use to mark both of these annual occasions.

Act Now to Take Advantage of Continuing Education Discounts
You have till the end of the month to take advantage of discounted prices on our two new online courses: Empowering the Respiratory Therapist to be the VAP Expert (2.5 CRCE credits) and Emerging Roles for the Respiratory Therapist in Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (3 CRCE credits). Both are available to members for $15 each through March 31.

Patient Safety Checklists Address Oxygenation During Hospital Transports

If you haven’t downloaded our new mobile app yet, take a few minutes to read more about it and then get it for your iPhones, Blackberries, and Androids. It’s a great way to stay up-to-date with your AARConnect discussion lists, our Facebook and Twitter feeds, AARC news, and more, even when you’re on the go.
