PACT Hits
D.C.; Your Support Makes the Difference!
The AARC’s Political Advocacy Contact Team (PACT) hit the ground running
this week in Washington, DC, with 105 members from 47 states and the District
of Columbia visiting with lawmakers about the Medicare Respiratory Therapy
Initiative (S 343/HR 1077) and other legislation important to the profession
and our patients. Thanks to you, they had the support they needed from folks
back home. Over the last week, you’ve sent more than 10,000 letters
and e-mails to your members of Congress supporting our legislative
agenda.
See some pictures of the event.
We'll add to it as we get more.
Summer
Forum and More
It's not too early to plan some
fun in the sun this summer. Oh, and you can learn some stuff too! The
AARC's Summer Meetings are at beautiful Marco Island, FL. We've secured
a great value at the resort and with several educational offerings to
choose from, it's a great value all the way around. Make plans now. Check
out the line up July 16-20 and stand by to register soon.
Pulmonary
Rehab Week Kicks Off on the 15th
The nation will mark National Pulmonary Rehabilitation Week
all next week, and the AARC has lots of great ways to celebrate.
With a clear Medicare benefit for pulmonary rehab less than
a year away now,
it’s
a great time to get the word out about how these programs can help
people live well with lung disease.
AARC and COPD Go Hand-in-Hand
As the spotlight turns
to pulmonary rehab next week, it’s a good time to remember how actively
involved the AARC is in the COPD community. The most recent example: AARC
Executive Director Sam Giordano’s reelection to the board of the
U.S. COPD Coalition. Click on the link to see other ways we are supporting
the COPD cause.
