A new opportunity to earn FREE CRCEs will be in your mailbox soon.
The AARC has just mailed a booklet titled “Symptom Control in Patients

supported by an
unrestricted educational grant from Sepracor.
ACCP
Asks Members to Support S 343/HR 1077
The AARC just received a big boost for its Medicare Respiratory
Therapy Initiative, now pending in both houses of Congress as
S 343/HR 1077. The American College of Chest Physicians is onboard with
the legislation
and has outlined its position to members in a new action alert.
AARC
Activates Disaster Relief Fund
We’ve all been following the news about the extensive flooding and
blizzards affecting people in North Dakota and Minnesota. At the AARC, we’re
doing our part to help by activating our Disaster Relief Fund.
If this natural disaster has impacted you, click on the link
for more on how to apply for
a grant of up to $500.
Federal
Challenge Grants: Topics of Interest for RTs
The federal stimulus package includes big bucks for medical
research, and the AARC wants to make sure all members are
aware of the opportunities. To help, we’ve gone through the government documents
and come up with a list of topics pertaining to respiratory care.
Association
Supports Protection of Medical Patents
Patent reform legislation is considered a good thing,
but the AARC and fellow organizations want to make sure
lawmakers don’t
go overboard and unduly curtail medical advances. We
just signed on to a new
letter to members of the influential Senate Judiciary
Committee urging them to protect
medically-related patents in their reform efforts.
