AARC Announces New Associate Executive Director
Doug Laher, MBA, RRT, will be joining the AARC Executive Office as associate executive director this September. A long time Association member who most recently served as Management Section chair, he comes to the position from the Cleveland Clinic Health System in Ohio.


Interim Chairs Will Lead Management and Diagnostics Specialty Sections
AARC President Timothy Myers, BSRT, RRT-NPS, has appointed Cheryl Hoerr, MBA, RRT, CPFT, FAARC, and Michael Tracy, BA, RRT-NPS, RPFT, to serve as interim section chairs for the Management and Diagnostics Specialty Sections, respectively, until newly elected section chairs are seated in early December. Tomorrow Don’t Miss Our Podcast Featuring Nascar Driver Danica Patrick
AARC is a key partner of the DRIVE4COPD campaign to raise awareness about COPD. The Association launched a DRIVE4COPD initiative last month with a goal of screening 500,000 members of the public (10 per AARC member/respiratory therapist) using the Drive4COPD screener.

AARC President Tim Myers, BSRT, RRT-NPS, recently interviewed Nascar driver Danica Patrick, one of the celebrities supporting the program, and the interview will be posted at Podcast Central tomorrow. AARC is urging all members to get involved in the DRIVE4COPD program, which you can read about here.

The AARC has just joined 17 other organizations in signing on to a letter to the FDA’s Center for Tobacco Control focused on the tobacco industry’s marketing of its products to young people and minorities.
