Are
You Over 35? Then Do This Now
Jumpstart the AARC's Drive4COPD project by taking that first step yourself.
Go to the main
page, find your state in the drop down list and take the
5-question screener. All AARC members will be asked to participate in
the weeks to come to help raise awareness of COPD. Give it a test-drive,
then go here
to see if your state has moved up in the rankings.
AARC Launches Simulation Roundtable
More and more hospitals and educational institutions are augmenting traditional educational offerings with medical simulation, and respiratory therapists are part of the mix. Our new Simulation Roundtable, headed up by Julianne Perretta, MSEd, RRT-NPS, from the Johns Hopkins Medicine Simulation Center, aims to facilitate the discussion.
Pediatric Respiratory Care: Is There More Than One Right Answer?
The fifth topic in the AARC Professor’s Round’s 2010 series has just been released. Ira M. Cheifetz, MD, FAARC, and Michael R. Anderson, MD, FAAP, discuss the different approaches to management of the pediatric patient with severe acute lung injury, including the determination of optimal PEEP, using ECMO for ARDS as a sequelae of H1N1, and applying other adjunct therapies. Lecture is now available on DVD and includes CRCE credit. View details and all the other topics in the 2010 AARC Professor’s Rounds series. This topic is also part of the Pediatric Set ordering option—see Item # PR2010P.
