Clancy, MD, director of the federal Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, as the 2010 keynote speaker at the AARC International Respiratory Congress, Dec. 6–9 in Las Vegas, NV. COPD Educator Course Adds Nursing Credit
Our new COPD Educator Course is approved for 10 hours of CRCE credit for RTs, and now it’s been approved for 10 hours of nursing credit as well. So be sure to share the link with your nursing colleagues and encourage them to take advantage of this great opportunity to learn more about COPD case management.

Speaking of COPD, here’s something we all can to do make sure more folks are diagnosed: participate in the national Drive4COPD campaign. So get involved, and then email, Facebook, and Twitter the news to all your colleagues as well.


VAP Workshop Heads to Maryland and Pennsylvania
The AARC has launched a traveling workshop aimed at bringing everyone up-to-speed on proven strategies to minimize the occurrence of ventilator-associated pneumonia, and two new sessions are now scheduled in Maryland and Pennsylvania, both in conjunction with state society meetings.


HRSA Reports Scholarship Info for RTs
Newly revamped pages on the Health Resources and Services Administration website offer targeted information especially for RTs—including some great scholarship opportunities open to students in the profession.
