Is Health Care a Team Sport? AARC, Fellow Orgs, Think So
The AARC has joined five other organizations in establishing a new initiative aimed at improving teamwork in the hospital. The Hospital Care Collaborative has just published 13 Common Principles all the groups believe will guide facilities toward a more non-hierarchical model at the bedside.

Smoking Cessation Gets AARC Support

• The Joint Commission is seeking input on new measures for assessing and treating tobacco dependence in the hospital, and the AARC is asking all its members to weigh in with their comments by the Sept. 30 deadline.
• The Association has also signed on to a letter to Congress urging the inclusion of preventative services such as smoking cessation counseling and medications in health care reform legislation.
