The AARC Elections are just around the corner—voting starts on Mon., Oct. 4—and now’s the time to learn more about the candidates so you can make an informed decision. We’ll be electing new officers and directors, plus several new Specialty Section chair-elects.

Drive4COPD: 250,000 and Counting!
The Drive4COPD campaign we’ve been telling you about for weeks now just reached a major milestone—since its inception last February, the campaign has reached more than 250,000 people with its COPD population screener. This is a great accomplishment, but we still have miles to go to find all the “missing millions” who have COPD but don’t know it. So click on the link, read more about Drive4COPD, and then start spreading the word via voice, email, Twitter, Facebook, or any other communications avenues at your disposal.

HHS Launches New Site to Register Health Professional Volunteers
If you’d like to volunteer to serve your country in the event of a medical emergency, check out this new website just set up by the Department of Health and Human Services. Respiratory therapists are on the list of professionals being asked to pre-registered via the Emergency System for Advance Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals.

Save Now on Congress Registration
The AARC International Respiratory Congress will be here before we know it—this Mon., Dec. 6–Thurs., Dec. 9—and if you’re planning to attend but have yet to register, you might want to get it done. Special savings end Oct. 31.
