TJC Responds to AARC Request for Clarification on Order Writing
The Joint Commission is now on the same page as CMS when it comes to who can write respiratory care orders and how. Following an AARC request for clarification from CMS, TJC is following the government’s lead, noting that respiratory care orders can be written by nurse practitioners and physicians assistants as long as the orders are co-signed by a physician.
