Relive the Congress in our Multimedia Online Congress Gazette
The 2010 AARC International Respiratory Congress wrapped up last week after four days of the best continuing education available anywhere in the respiratory care world. But you can relive all the action—or get a taste of it, if you were unable to attend this year—in our all new, multimedia Online Congress Gazette. Click on the link to find:

Submit 2011 Congress RFPs Today
While the 2010 Congress is still fresh in your mind, take a few moments to think about what you’d like to see during the 2011 meeting in Tampa, FL, Nov. 5–8, and then tell us about it by submitting a lecture and/or symposium topic proposal via our Easy Street online submission process. The meeting may still be many months away, but the Program Committee is already gearing up to plan next year’s session, and they need your input by Jan. 5.

RC Week Wrap Up
We asked you to tell us how you celebrated National Respiratory Care Week this year, and lots of you took us up on the offer. We’ve now compiled all of your stories in an RC Week wrap up that we think you’ll agree shows the pride in profession shared by RTs across the country.

New Guide Can Help You Help Your Patients Kick the Habit
The AARC’s Tobacco-Free Lifestyle Roundtable has created a new booklet featuring a ten-step plan to quit smoking that you can use with your inpatients and outpatients. “Why Quit Using Tobacco?” was published by the ARCF with the assistance of an unrestricted patient education grant from Pfizer, and is now available free of charge to RTs around the country.

2010 Courses are Closing Next Week!
If you are registered for a 2010 AARC course, please note that you will only have until midnight, December 31, to take the exam and pass the course. Registration for the 2010 courses will close down at 5 p.m. on December 30. Registration for 2011 courses will open on Monday, January 3, by 12 p.m. CST. View the available 2010 courses, and check your remaining exams in Examination Central.

Good Press: AARC Members in the News
We have two editions of our popular news feature to share. This one includes a great story about how two members–an RT and his medical director–are making the most of their recent Asthma Self Management Education (ASME) certification from the AARC. In this issue you’ll find everything from a member who took the lung health message to high school kids in Alaska to another who was just named CEO of a hospital in Louisiana.
