This course is FREE for AARC members only. Non-members can register for each course for $150 and receive free AARC membership.
Continuing Education
Course 1 provides 2 hours and Course 2 provides 3 hours of CRCE credit. Upon successful completion of a post-course examination, you will receive a certificate and the hours will automatically be posted to your AARC CRCE transcript.

Course 1: Navigating the Healthcare Reimbursement System
2 CRCE credits
Introduces the principal components of the U.S. healthcare reimbursement system by giving an overview of the three different payor types: Medicare, Medicaid, and private payer insurance. Discusses coding and billing processes and details how a respiratory therapist can have a direct impact on the reimbursement process. (2007)

Course 2: Continuing to Explore the Reimbursement Waters
3 CRCE credits
Explores the myths and realities of the reimbursement process. The eligibility requirements and benefits of the various Medicare programs and role of the Medicare Administrative Contractors will be presented. Filing claim and payor coverage decisions will be explained. (2008)
