Join us at the Marco Island Marriott, site of the Adult Critical Care Specialist Course and AARC Summer Forum 2014.

In 2012, the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) released the Adult Critical Care Specialty Examination for Registered Respiratory Therapists who have at least one year of experience working in the adult critical care environment. This credential (RRT-ACCS) is unique to the daily tasks of an adult critical care specialist. It goes above and beyond general respiratory care activities and demonstrates an enhanced skill level in a fast-growing specialty within the field.

Few preparatory courses are currently available for RRTs seeking this credential. As such, the AARC is excited to host a 2-day, live prep course in Marco Island, FL (July 13–14, 2014). The course is eligible for 13.5 CRCE.

Unlike other courses that simply provide you with the skills to pass the credentialing exam, the AARC’s Adult Critical Care Specialist course provides a comprehensive understanding of the intensive care environment and the critically ill patient. Through this program, participants will enhance their knowledge of the critical care environment and key factors, practices, and procedures that impact patient outcomes. Aligned with the test matrix of the NBRC, this program will better prepare participants to sit for and successfully pass the Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) examination, but perhaps most importantly, it prepares the respiratory therapist to become a better clinician. In a tight economy where competition for open positions is fierce, this credential and participation in this course is a great way to differentiate yourself from your peers.

Not interested in sitting for the exam? Just want to brush up on your critical care skills? That’s OK too. This 2-day course is a great opportunity to build upon an existing skillset or to serve as an orientation to the critical care environment. Regardless of your reasoning on attending, the AARC’s Adult Critical Care Specialist course has you covered.

The course will be held at the luxurious Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort. Nestled on three miles of pristine Southwest Florida beaches, the Marco Island Marriott Beach Resort Golf Club and Spa is the perfect destination for an educational meeting.
